The MCCC basically is a conglomeration of Marine Corps Active Duty, Reserve and Corps Veteran organizations in our aor. We have one fundraising event annually, the Semper Fi Golf Classic and the donations we receive from that venue are reserved for the Wounded Marine Foundation, National) Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation, (National) and Local Marine Corps related Charities, Toys for Tots, and the presentation of an Officers Sword for the honor graduate in the NROTC program at OSU
We meet the 3rd Monday of each month at the Reserve Center on Swan Island at 1100 1200 sometimes they meeting will go over but that is limited, if that Monday is a National Holiday we meet the next Tuesday same time and location.
All of our Marine Corps organizations appoint a Primary and Alternate member of their organization to represent them on the Council. (Currently I am the Primary and Larry Stewart is the Alternate for our detachment. This is subject to change annually, or if our members representatives drop out of the venue we submit an appoint form.
Each member organization reports on what they are doing in the community and shares their activities in our community and any upcoming events they may be having.
Main Purpose is to “Coordinate” the activities of each of the member organizations to attempt to have our events so that they do not conflict with each other, so all can attend the various events without conflict, leaving the opportunity to come together in camaraderie with each other during the year.
ALL MARINES ARE WELCOME TO JOIN WITH US AT OUR MEETINGS... There are NO dues.
Voting for any issue that comes up is by the member organizations, but any Marine can come in and make a presentation to retrieve support for a venue if it is related to taking care of Marines and their families, subsequent approval of venue is by a vote of the membership organizations.
