The members of this committee are an advisory group for the Clark County Commissioners concerning assistance to indigent veterans within Clark County. The detachment has provided membership on this board since 1993, Appointed by the Detachment Commandant.

Purpose:
To develop programs or procedures that is consistent with the welfare of indigent and suffering veterans and eligible family members of those veterans. Serve, as an Advisory Board on Veterans needs in accordance within these guidelines, Clark County Codes, and RCW is relating to Veterans Relief to the Clark County Legislature. Provide a venue by which each Congressionally Chartered Veterans organization within Clark County may provide representation on the Clark County Veterans Resource Committee. Promote awareness of the CCVRC and its purpose throughout the Clark County Veterans Community, and provide policy guidance and advice to the Clark County Veterans Service Officer.
The County contracts with a County Service Organization for a Service Officer to provide adequate services for the indigent veteran and the VSO is a member of the committee. Veterans’ Outreach Vancouver Share House 1115 W 13th St., Vancouver, WA 1st & 3rd Tues, 1-2:30 pm.
Referrals for VA services. Share House - Share House is an emergency shelter for single homeless men. They provide hot meals to anyone seven days a week. They also provide: Telephone, mailbox, clothing, showers, and laundry, nurse on site, referral services, and volunteer counselors for various organizations. The Transportation Assistance Program provides persons with gasoline vouchers and local and long distance bus tickers. To find out more about this program, call (360) 695-7658. Through the committee and indigent fund for Clark County Veterans, the county has contracted with Share to provide services for our indigent Veterans.
